A message from Reverend Cornelius Irving Numlock²

by Derek Fournier on Friday, May 8. 2009 at 01:40 PM

Brothas and sistahs, I’d like to thank ya’ll for comin’ out to visit me at the Swimage Revival at MMS 2009.  It was so nice seein’ ya’ll, and I know my deacons enjoyed meeting with you to talk about the data salvation possibilities of integrating with Swimage Encore.  We had a lot of fun, gave away a bunch of shirts, and drank a whole lotta Kool-Aid!

If we missed seein’ you at the Revival, you can still enjoy some photos and videos at http://www.SwimageRevival.com I realize that’s not the same as enjoying my glory in person, but it’ll have to do until next year.  I’m gonna need at LEAST that much time to recover from all the fun I had in Vegas.

I wanna thank all of the wonderful folks, from the Keynote speakers, the attendees and the fellow exhibitors for the kind words during the conference. My deacons and I had a wonderful time sharin’ the 11 CMD-Ments of Deployment and discussin’ the ways that Swimage Encore can get you off that horrible treadmill of writin’ custom scripts to deploy and onto a sustainable framework that leverages the strength of your infrastructure.  Not to mention freein’ you up to do things that add significant value to your IT Department.

All of us at Intrinsic are looking forward to demoing Swimage Encore to you fine folks in the comin’ weeks.  If you didn’t get a chance to sign up for a demo, you can do so now by vistin’ http://www.intrinsic.net/Home/Products/Events-and-Demonstrations.aspx

Once again, thank ya’ll for a wonderful time, and we look forward to seein’ ya’ll again next year.  Peace be with you brothas and sistahs, and may all your deployments be smooth.  Goodnight.

OK, so blogging while at the conference is hard

by Derek Fournier on Thursday, April 30. 2009 at 07:53 PM

So folks, we took a pile of pictures and videos but due to the amount of work we were doing, some of the media is a bit out of date. Here you will see a few more testimonials and interviews with our fellow exhibitors. Going and visiting them now is a struggle (since the conference is over from an Expo Hall perspective).

Here we have Mr. McLovin who was a HUGE fan of our presence in the Expo Hall. He claims that is really his name and he seems VERY honest!

Then we met Bob and he told us about some of his pains as they relate to deployment:

Another Day; Another Mention on the Big Stage

by Derek Fournier on Thursday, April 30. 2009 at 04:10 AM

As mentioned yesterday, we were fortunate enough to meet Rodney, the resident interviewer extraordinaire for MMS. A portion of that interview made it to the big stage today (link forthcoming) which triggered a number of new visitors. Word on the street is that our friend Mr. Urban was cat calling during the interview.

Today on the Expo Hall floor was slower that early in the week but the conversations were excellent. Plenty of folks were coming around to get more information about our services and products. Unlike the "Swag Grab" that happens early (and we are not against this!), the discussions today were focused on specific problems our customers face and how we can provide solutions. The ability to spend that time with potential customers is another thing that makes MMS a "Must Attend" event.

As our Expo Hall thinned out for actual potential customers, our fellow exhibitors got into the action. The Reverend was able to get out and meet some possible future members for his flock. We also offered an olive branch to the folks who felt we might have been a little sacrilegious. Pictures forthcoming.

I apologize for the lack of media this evening but we had a late night with a wonderful client dinner at Dos Caminos and a private film shoot in the VIP suite.

More news to come.

No animals were harmed in the filming of the spot that we will be releasing and nobody who was arrested was held.

Day 2: More fun and excitement and a great reference!

by Derek Fournier on Tuesday, April 28. 2009 at 08:34 PM

We continue to have a great time on the Expo Hall floor with our theme and story about helping customers get out of the "Custom Software Development" business. We got a GREAT reference from a gentleman over on MyITForum. He apparently saw our booth and had some very nice things to say about Swimage. We want to thank Paul for those kind words and invite him over to the booth for some Kool Aid!

Here are some images from the floor today. We had some terrific visitors and a quote of the day. A passerby made a comment, "Well, when nothing else works, you might as well try sacriligious." Instead of encouraging the gentleman to pray for a sense of humor, Reverend Cornelious responded with, "Not sacriligious brotha, sacrilicious!"

We hosted Rodney, the MC of MMS for a brief interview as well as the young ladies from the SecureVantage booth. They were great sports and managed to put up with the Reverend! Make sure you check out the folks over at the SecureVantage booth! Last but not least, we met John Rakowski from dilgenter. He is also doing a daily blog about MMS. Try and check that out and let John know what you think!

We will have some video posts up a little later this evening including a few new testimonials. Make sure you post some comments and let us know if these posts are getting you closer to the action! I apologize for the misspelling last night (er...this AM). I am sure it will happen again!

We will be adding some of the videos from today's floor activities later this evening.

The Swimage Revival Power Hour

Check out the video EVERYONE is talking about!

A GREAT first night for the revival!

by Derek Fournier on Tuesday, April 28. 2009 at 02:46 AM

OK folks, the Microsoft Management Summit 2009 kicked off tonight and boy, the Swimage Revival made a great first impression! The stampede came in and needed arm bands for a party. On the WAY to those arm bands, our Revival activity took center stage. We started with the passing out of our trademark "Have you drank the Kool Aid at the Swimage Revival," shirts and spreading the good news of deployment success! Reverend Cornelius was pastoring to the masses while the Deacons were explaining the virtues of Swimage Encore and Intrinsic Technologies, LLC.

Our 'edgy' campaign seemed to get a great deal positive feedback as people came over to take photos with our cast members and ask actual technical questions about our solutions. The opening evening is marked by swag and free drinks. Both were in full effect but we powered through to discuss the value of a template driven, workflow powered deployment framework that can free our customers of the shackles of writing custom code every other quarter!

Take a gander at the photos from this evening. We have a TON more that we will be trickling out.

In The Beginning...

by Derek Fournier on Monday, April 27. 2009 at 05:38 PM

We arrived at the Expo Hall today and found EVERYTHING WAS INTACT! The miracles of this week started early! As you can see, our booth is a comfy locale and our neighbors are delightful! We are directly across from our good partners at SCCM Expert and have already let the people around us know that the volume level may be a bit high.

Our T-Shirts and Tablets have already started some buzz on the floor. Once the booth is cleaned up we will upload some additional pictures. Tonight the Hall will open and the Swimage Revival Power Hour will be in full effect!

The tablets came out BEAUTIFUL! They are a little creepy as they look like tombstones, but you get the point:

And last but not least, the Rev. Numlock in the house ready to preach to the masses! Come on by Booth 619 and get some ole fashioned preachin!

The Crew Arrives in "Sin City"

by Derek Fournier on Monday, April 27. 2009 at 03:49 AM

Dateline: Las Vegas, NV      Mid Afternoon and into the evening

The first wave of crusaders arrived at The Venetian today to get prepared for the Swimage Revival. MMS 2009 may never be the same once people get a chance to meet Rev. Numlock. We received troubling news today that the ever popular water bottles attendees have been receiving have been replaced with metal imposters! This will limit the coolness of our free Kool Aid by appearance, but the flavor will be unaffected.

Tomorrow morning we will get registered and get all of our gear set up in the Expo Hall in preparation for the first services. I have already run into our terrific hosts (Stefanie, Martin and Kristen) as well as annual attendees and folks of significant importance. This conference is, in many ways, a reunion of sorts. The Management Technology space is filled with passion and an event like this really brings that passion to the forefront. We hope that our little corner of the Expo Hall brings both education and entertainment as it endeavors to accomplish both.

At the heart of our "Sermons" will be the approaches many companies have taken toward developing a solution for the deployment of operating systems. We will take a humorous look at the plight technologists face when dealing with this event and the many ways they have tried to solve their problem. While executing this approach with tongue firmly in cheek, the underlying message is a serious one. Deployment does not have to be a daunting, expensive and avoided process. You do not have to equate it to a root canal or visiting that in law you try to avoid. You can, when handled proactively, turn deployment into a true strategic asset for your company. In fact, every day that you do not take this approach, you could not only be losing competitive advantage, but also losing money!

So come by our booth and attend a service. Take a chance and win a Collectible Swimage Revival T-Shirt or Necklace or even give us your own "Testimony" about deployment efforts. Take some time to speak to the "Deacons" in the booth about the unique approach that Swimage Encore employs and how leveraging it can allow you to truly unlock the power of deployment.

See you in the AM!

The Plan for MMS 2009

by Derek Fournier on Thursday, April 23. 2009 at 09:31 PM

OK folks, we have been here before. The Microsoft Management Conference is THE place to be for all of your management technologies questions. The team from Redmond and abroad do an amazing job of putting on this show every year. With the backdrop of Vegas, the changing economic climate, the renewed interest in efficiency of IT spend and a healthy disregard for conventional approach, the Intrinsic Technologies are going to change the way you look at the Expo Hall!

As you can tell by the site, we are launching an irreverent look at the ‘norms’ of the industry with specific focus on the efforts most folks make to get a solution to enable deployment in their environments. Sadly, those efforts are usually incredibly expensive (if they end up existing at all), rarely have staying power beyond the tactical goal that spawned them and almost never result in competitive advantage for their company. We will be discussing how to turn deployment on “its ear” by making YOU the master of deployment. Leverage new technology on YOUR schedule. Make full use of the licenses and infrastructure you have invested in and STOP trying to reinvent the wheel.

This week we will be encouraging you to speak with our team in Booth 619 at the Swimage Revival. They will be able to talk to you about all of the technical components involved in deployment from application management, to infrastructure to the actual deployment framework. They will be able to explain how a sound strategy now can truly revolutionize your IT department and assist in your maturation along the Infrastructure Optimization continuum.

So come by! Meet our Reverend! Listen to the show. Talk to our experts. Let’s take this time to share and have a great time. (and while you are there, pick up some Kool Aid for those water bottles they always give out!)

Welcome to our Blog Home!

by Derek Fournier on Tuesday, April 21. 2009 at 10:02 PM

OK folks, the days of the same old boring trade shows is OVER! Intrinsic Technologies in conjunction with our friends at tmr are presenting the Swimage Revival! An irreverant look at current deployment methodologies and toolsets with an eye toward the solutions that our decades of experience have led us to discover. Deployment does not have to be scary, expensive, risk-filled or something that you tie to other activities like hardware purchases people. Deployment can, in fact, be your friend. Come and learn how at the Swimage Revival!
